11 Stunning Drawings You Won’t Believe Were Made With A Ballpoint Pen

Since the time the ballpoint pen replaced the ink and quill, writing has become a lot less messier, but it’s not exactly a good choice for drawing. When it comes to art, ballpoint pens are excellent for doodling, sketching, drawing outlines or even adding shadows, they are not for painting the whole picture. Despite that, one talented artist chose the ballpoint pen for her works.

Latvian artist Marite Desaine created whimsical and fantastic works of art using only ballpoint pens. She spends over 30 hours making one piece and her effort, patience and talent are obvious in the final product. The obvious and harsh pen strokes which makes it an undesirable drawing tool, here is used to create the really unique and interesting style of the artist, not to mention ti gives a certain depth of the work.
