30 Amazingly Detailed Miniature Paintings Done One A Day For One Year
The difference between an amazing painting and an mediocre one is the details. That is where the artist’s talent truly comes to light. After all, not everyone has the nerves or the steady hand to create an art piece that will catch and hold the viewers attention. So, how small o you think a painting can be without blurring all the details into one unrecognizable mess? How about the size of a penny?
Cape Town based artist Loraine Loots started painting one miniature painting each day from January 1st 2013. She worked with pencils, brushes and her naked eye, no magnification. Her works became so sought after that she continued the project in 2014, and called it “Postcards For Ants”. Her mini-paintings have become so popular that people even stared calling in advance to book a day and suggest what to be painted on a particular day.
Seeing her works, it will be obvious why people would get excited about them. This year is almost at an end, so here are only a few of her 365 postcards for ants.
