New details have emerged today on Dragon Ball Xenoverse, the new Dragon Ball game launching next month in all regions on consoles and PC.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse, the upcoming Dragon Ball game launching during February in all regions on old and new consoles and PC, has received a new gameplay video.
Recently, Microsoft announced a special promotional price drop for the Xbox One. Microsoft certainly had a good holiday season. In the US, the Xbox One was the best-selling video game console for the key holiday sales months of November and December. On top of that, Microsoft announced a promotional price drop of the Xbox One, down to $349.99. Last month, the Sony PlayStation had to deal with cyber intrusions and outages on the PlayStation Network. As a result, Sony offered five-day extensions for PlayStation Plus membership and 10 percent discounts at the PlayStation Store. However, this is not enough. In this competitive free marketplace, Sony PlayStation should consider upping the ante against Microsoft and releasing some sort of promotional price drop for the PlayStation 4, or a bargain discounted bundle pack.
Recently, Techland debuted some new gameplay videos showcasing the co-op and multiplayer modes for the upcoming first-person, zombie survival horror game Dying Light. Besides what looks to be a massive, open-world single-player campaign, the game also has co-op play and a competitive asymmetric multiplayer game mode called Be the Zombie Mode. I am happy to see that these additional modes will be a part of the game. Both gameplay modes look to add a nice amount of depth to the game and a fun twist on these types of zombie first-person shooters.
One of the bigger success stories out of the video game industry in 2014 was Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor. The open-world, hack-and-slash, action-adventure title was one of the bigger hits of the year. Developer Monolith Productions truly outdid itself for the game’s performance. There probably had not been a truly great or classic Middle-earth quite like this. There were some very good games based on The Lord of the Rings franchise. The Two Towers and The Return of the Kings games were impressive and actually well done for their time, especially for movie-based games. Recently on Gamasutra, Monolith Productions design director Michael de Plater wrote up an incredible postmortem for the title. De Plater’s postmortem provides a fascinating look behind the scenes for a major, triple-A game release, such as Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor.
