Google unveiled the first fully-functional unmanned vehicle prototype
On December 23, according to the CNET Web site reported, Google on Monday unveiled its first unmanned vehicle prototype. Despite the new prototype car profile launched in May with Google makes little difference, but the former is a full-featured driverless cars.
Google’s new unmanned vehicle prototype there have been some small changes, including car roof top equipment used to monitor road conditions “PHI” on more delicate crust. In addition, Google also provides the car lights were installed. Google says the company during the testing phase, will use the manual control (throttle and brake pedal) to control the car in order to comply with the California Department of motor vehicles regulations.
Google said last week that the company is developing its own prototype at the same time, also looking for cooperation with car manufacturers, plans over the next five years will be driverless cars into the market.
Google driverless car was announced in 2010, its first in the Google x-lab project, and other projects, including the smart glasses in the laboratory and used to monitor cancer nanoparticles. Google says: “now, we put this system into a car, and this is our first fully-functional unmanned vehicle prototype products. ”
In August this year, Google agreed with the temporary increase in the beta version of driverless cars steering and throttle and brake system. Google says: “our safe drivers will continue to monitor for a longer period of time in the future to driverless cars. In our testing and learning stages, if necessary, we will use a temporary manual control system. ”
