NEW YORK/SEOUL (Reuters) – Samsung Electronics recently offered to buy BlackBerry Ltd for as much as $7.5 billion, seeking its valuable patents as it battles Apple in the corporate market, according to a person familiar with the matter and documents seen by Reuters.

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Options activity in BlackBerry Ltd jumped after a Reuters report that Samsung Electronics Co Ltd had approached the Canadian company about a possible takeover deal.
OTTAWA (Reuters) – A spokesman for Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Wednesday declined to comment on a Reuters report that said Samsung Electronics Co Ltd had approached BlackBerry about a buyout.
