Beyond Flesh and Blood: Robots Arrive In Manchester
Rumours abound about this game’s release in autumn this year: will it feature something more complex? Is it way too ambitious for an indie game?
Demos have been released since October last year, with a new one out over Valentine’s [if you’re alone or coupled, you can still smash up and take out your anti-Hallmark aggression with robots].
The premise is, that Manchester has become one of the last cities on Earth. People were warned about taking cybernetics too far… and in this upcoming indie game for 2015 for PC, XBOX, PS4 and Linux: the opportunity to understand a brave new reality in a UK setting has been realised.
The background story:
“Society now live in The Tree of Life, an anchored orbital station on the edge of Earth’s atmosphere governed by the U.G.R (United Global Remnant). A scattering of rogue scavengers still remain on the ground, surviving off the old world as hostiles.
The divide between the orbital population and scavengers is pushed to breaking point when a meteorite collides with earth and brings with it an unthinkable threat.
In an attempt to retake tactical control over strategic points of the planet, the U.G.R open a communication network – signal towers are placed across major cities.”
Who are the UGR? Who are the MK 1 and 2 robots? Why Manchester? This is a game to look out for…
