Lithium sulfur battery technology breakthrough is expected to manufacture lighter electric car batteries
Recently, Canada University of Waterloo scientist claims in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) has made a major breakthrough in battery technology, with an ultra thin Nano-material, they developed a more durable sulfur cathode. It is understood that the sulphur material is not only abundant, light weight and cheap, in theory, could supply three times as long as current common lithium-ion batteries battery life, but instability has been the major obstacles to limit its popularity. This breakthrough in lithium-sulphur technology, is expected to usher in a lighter weight, better performance and cheaper electric car batteries.
